The bridge carrying l”Enfant Plaza Promenade in built in the 70’s suffering from corrosion of the abutment bearings and mis-alignment issues due to improper installation.. Structural Specialists Inc. was hired to design and implement the bridge jacking and bearing repair & re-set operations required by DDOT consultants to replace severly corroded bearing components, anchor bolts and install with the proper alignment.The bridge was jacked in stages at the designated locations and a total of 20 large size rocker bearings were refurbished.
