Structural Specialists Inc. was hired to perform various structural strengthening and alteration works required to accomodate new data and fining rooms in a traditionnally reinforced concrete building. Part of the scope was executed over night and weekend in a highly secured occupied space and another portion executed inside the building mechanical rooms and including insite confined space ventilation ducts. The scope included fabricating and erecting 9 heavy punching shear column caps, performing slab FRP strengthening with NSM rods and fabric composites as well as saw cutting large penetrations in the concrete slabs for new mechanical systems. This project had a very challanging schedule and required extreme coordination with the building Engineers and other trades but was sucessfully completed by the Labor day deadline.
